WASHINGTON - Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., filed papers Wednesday to earn a spot on Utah's presidential primary ballot, joining six other 2008 contenders vying for the Beehive State's nod.

Former Utah Democratic Party Chairman Donald Dunn, who served in President Clinton's administration, officially submitted Sen. Clinton's name for Utah's Feb. 5 primary election.

"Hillary Clinton has the strength and the experience to deliver the change America needs," Dunn said in a statement. "She will run an aggressive grass-roots campaign in Utah in both the primary and general elections." Other candidates who have also filed include: former Sen. John Edwards; Rep. Ron Paul, R-Tex.; Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.; ex-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee; former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

Clinton is expected in Utah for a fundraiser later this month.
