FARMINGTON - Around Oct. 15, Davis County residents should receive voter-information pamphlets in the mail presenting the pros and cons of the quarter-cent sales tax initiative to appear on November's ballot. Voters will have a chance to say yes or no to the tax, which is aimed at preserving transportation corridors throughout this heavily traveled commuter county sandwiched between Salt Lake County on the south and Weber County to the north. Clerk/Auditor Steve Rawlings said Tuesday the pamphlet's argument favoring the tax was penned by Davis Chamber of Commerce President John Pitt, while the anti-tax reasoning came from CitizensForTax Fairness.org. - Cathy McKitrick
