The parents of a toddler who was killed two years ago after she wandered into heavy traffic are suing the driver who struck her and the carpet company they say he was working for.
In a suit filed this week, Brandon Parry and Marie Maynard wrote that a driver working for Ogden's Carpet Outlets Inc., struck their 18-month-old daughter, Alexis Parry, after she wandered away from her parents during a family shopping trip to Deseret Industries near 4500 South in Murray.
The suit, filed in 3rd District Court, claims the driver was changing lanes and not looking forward when his car struck the child. Parry and Maynard say he "did not maintain a proper lookout and did not take any evasive action once he had noticed that Alexis had wandered into the path of his vehicle."
