West Jordan holds meetings on forming school district

West Jordan has scheduled four informational meetings about a proposal to form a city- wide school district.

On Nov. 6, West Jordan voters will decide whether they want to break away from the Jordan School District.

Sandy, Draper, Midvale, Cottonwood Heights, Alta and unincorporated east-side pockets also are weighing a Jordan split this fall.

To learn more about a West Jordan district, residents are invited to attend the following meetings:

* Sept. 27, 7-9 p.m., West Hills Middle School, 8270 S. Grizzly Road (5290 West).

* Oct. 3, 7-9 p.m., Sunset Ridge Middle School, 6881 W. 8200 South.

* Oct. 9, 7-9 p.m., City Hall Council Chambers, 8000 S. Redwood Road (1700 West).

* Oct. 18, 7-9 p.m., Joel P. Jensen Middle School, 8105 S. 3200 West.
