A high of 104 degrees Saturday in Salt Lake City broke a 68-year-old record.

The old record for July 14 was 103, set in 1939, said National Weather Service meteorologist Randy Graham.

"This was a long-standing record," he said. Two other Utah locales set record highs Saturday. Brian Head, which reached 85, broke the old record of 78 from 1998, the weather service reported. Coalville hit 100, eclipsing the previous record for July 14 of 99, set in 2002.

Bryce Canyon Airport reached 90 and tied a 2003 record.

Temperatures throughout Utah are expected to remain in the 90s and triple digits this week.

Highs along the Wasatch Front were expected to remain in the upper 90s or above 100, the weather service reported.

Beaver and Cedar City were expected to reach the mid-90s this week. St. George will see highs around 108.
