Posted: 3:44 PM- WASHINGTON - Presidential candidate Mitt Romney pulled about $1.5 million of the $13.5 million he raised during the last three months from Utahns, the campaign reported Friday.

For the second quarter in a row, Utah was his second-biggest state for contributions.

Only California, which has 15 times the number of residents as Utah, donated more to Romney's 2008 White House bid. The state gave 17 percent of Romney's second-quarter haul, the camp said.

Utah was also second in the first-quarter, and Romney raked in $2.7 million from residents of the state. Romney, a Republican, is the former head of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and also belongs to the predominant religion of Utah, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
