Budget includes raises

Provo's City Council has approved a $141.5 million budget for the coming fiscal year.

The spending plan, which includes a 2 percent cost-of-living raise for city workers, allots $1 million for a new recreation center and $1 million for a new economic/community development investment fund to acquire key properties.

It also adds two zoning-enforcement officers and two police officers.
