Posted: 5:43 PM- Two people allegedly stole personal information from an 83-year-old Salt Lake City woman while posing as health insurance representatives from a bogus company named Wellcare.

A Caucasian man in his mid-20s and a woman who appears to be about nine months pregnant first contacted the woman by phone and made an appointment to meet her at her home, Salt Lake City police reported. They told her that Medicare was offering free dental, eye and hearing programs. She agreed to meet with them on Tuesday.

Later, at the woman's home, the pair gave the woman paperwork bearing the name of a company called Wellcare and she gave them confidential information.

Police said the scam appears to target older people. Medicare does not send representatives to customers' homes, police said, and has no programs like those described by the couple.

Both suspects have dark hair. The woman's is curly and the man's is medium-length.

Anyone with information about the scam can call 799-3000.
