Posted: 7:31 AM- LOGAN -- It seeks former Utah State University vice president Fred Hunsaker is abandoning retirement -- again.

The Herald Journal newspaper reports today that Hunsaker will return to the USU campus to temporarily fill his former position: vice president for business and finance.

That post was recently vacated by Glenn Ford, who is leaving USU on June 30 to accept a position at Linfield College in Oregon. There will be a national search to find a permanent replacement for Ford.

"This is not part of my plan for retirement. I did not have this figured in the plan, by any means, but I feel like it's a very worthwhile cause," said Hunsaker, who also is a Logan legislator.

This is not his first time pinch hitting for the school. In February 2004, shortly after he first retired from USU, Hunsaker agreed served as interim director of athletics.
