Posted: 3:48 PM- Jim Boylen, who was officially announced as the new men's basketball coach at the University of Utah today, has lofty goals for his new job.

"I figure, I'm 41, I should be coaching for another 20 or 21 years," Boylen said. "I think we have 28 championships here and by the time I finish, if we don't leave with 48, then I didn't do my job. You have to dream it before you live it. We're going to play hard and we're going to compete."

Boylen has agreed to a five-year contract worth $575,000 per year for base salary, radio and TV compensation and camps.

Athletic director Chris Hill is excited to have the kind of knowledge and preparedness that Boylen brings with him.

"I wanted to look for a coach that would prepare our team the best. That means he has to be prepared the best," Hill said. "I share the vision with Jim; how good we want to be and how we want to prepare our students."

Along with lofty goals, Boylen has a new motto: "From here on out, it's we, us and the Muss."

"I feel in my heart, we can be great here in Utah," Boylen said. "I thought I was born for this job. I love this city. I love this community."
