The Utah Transit Authority is holding a public open house today to discuss the proposed TRAX extension from downtown to the Salt Lake City International Airport. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Utah State Fairpark Conference Center, 155 N. 1000 West. UTA says representatives will be present to update, answer questions and take comments about proposed changes to the original alignment selected back in 1999. Proposals include connecting an alignment north along 400 West to North Temple, where it will travel west to the airport. Another option is to route the line north on 600 West to North Temple and then west to the airport. The 1999 alignment included four stations along North Temple and one station at the airport, including an 800 West station east of 800 West, a fairgrounds station west of 1000 West, a Cornell Street station at about 1540 West, a Winifred Street station at about 1900 West and the airport station east of Terminal 1.
