FARMINGTON - The Davis County Commission voted unanimously to enact a $10 vehicle-registration fee to help fund preservation of future transportation corridors.

Described as a user fee rather than a tax, automobile owners in this well-traveled area will start paying the extra $10 in July.

Earlier this year, all but two municipal mayors in Davis County threw their support behind the fee, especially in light of rapid growth on the county's west side.
