Jill Sigal currently serves as assistant secretary for congressional and intergovernmental affairs at the Energy Department.
Steve Creamer, CEO of the Utah-based radioactive waste disposal firm, said Sigal's experience would be an asset to our company, and her work was praised in a statement by Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman.
The Department of Energy and the country are better off having had Jill serve, the secretary said in a company news release. From the very beginning of my tenure as the Secretary of Energy, Jill has been a loyal and trusted adviser.
Bodman said Sigal helped pass the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and pressed the department's top environmental cleanup projects.
I've had a tremendous opportunity promoting new energy policies by serving in government, now I'm looking forward to joining EnergySolutions as they fulfill their vision to become a successful global nuclear firm, Sigal said.
Sigal graduated from the University of Vermont and earned a law degree at George Washington University.
