A man claiming to have a gun robbed a Salt Lake City tanning salon Wednesday night. The man - described as white, thin, wearing all black clothes, with something black over his face and white Adidas shoes - entered Electric Rays, 231 S. 1300 East, around 9:30, told the clerk he had a gun and demanded cash, according to police. The thief fled in an an unknown direction with the cash and the clerk's cell phone, police said.
Woman sues over surgery
A Sandy woman who discovered she was pregnant after receiving liposuction surgery is suing her cosmetic surgeon for negligence, according to court documents. The woman, who was 28 when she received the surgery in 2005, alleges that a surgeon at the Institute of Facial and Cosmetic Surgery in Salt Lake City failed to give her a pregnancy test before performing an abdominal plasty with liposuction. The woman alleges the surgery caused difficulties for her during the pregnancy and is suing for unspecified damages in 3rd District Court.
