A pregnant 15-year-old, who took off with two other pregnant girls from the New Hope Maternity Home in American Fork on Jan 16 after allegedly attacking the home's director, turned herself in to American Fork police on Monday.

Police Sgt. Shauna Greening said the girl's mother drove her to the police station at 1:30 p.m. from their California home. The girl was questioned about the whereabouts of the other girls, and their activities over the past two weeks, but Greening said she could not comment on the subject because the case is still under investigation.

The other girls, 15 and 16, and both pregnant, are from Illinois and Texas. They are still missing.

"We encourage them to turn themselves in," Greening said.

One of the girls allegedly assaulted Jana Moody, the maternity home director, then tied her up with electrical cord and duct tape. The girls then tied up a 17-year-old girl at the home. Both were gagged with a sock and duct tape, police said.

The girls took the director's van, purse, credit cards and other items before fleeing, police said. They face possible charges of aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnaping and auto theft. The 15-year-old has been booked into the Slate Canyon Detention Center.
