MAPLETON - A proposed snake breeding business that had upset some people in Mapleton may be on the move.

The Mapleton Planning Commission was scheduled to make a decision on the issue Thursday night, but the owners of the business withdrew their application, said city administrator Robert Bradshaw.

Dan Sutherland, who declined comment, moved to Mapleton from California and hoped to run his Internet ball-python business out of two barns near his new home.

Sutherland has applied for a new permit, this time in an industrial park on the outskirts of Spanish Fork. That city's Planning Commission will consider the application at a meeting Wednesday.
