The Salt Lake County Clerk's Office is expanding early voting hours for the general election.
Due to high turnout, the office is opening next Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and adding more voting machines.
In-office voting hours Monday through Friday are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Salt Lake County Clerk Sherrie Swensen said more early voting will mean shorter lines on Election Day, Nov. 7.
This is the first year Utah is using new touch-screen voting machines, and officials say that means it could take people longer to vote as they figure out the new equipment.
The Salt Lake County Clerk's Office is located in the Government Center at 2001 S. State St.
