A 25-year-old man was struck and killed by a pickup truck early Friday as he walked along a dark stretch of a road in West Haven.
Weber County sheriff's Lt. Mark Lowther said Cody Hadley, of West Haven, was wearing dark clothing and is believed to have been walking partially in the southbound lane of 3500 West when hit by a Dodge Dakota.
"The driver just didn't see him in time," Lowther said, noting that section of the road does not have street lights.
Hadley was dead at the scene.
The accident remained under investigation, but no citations were immediately issued to the driver.
