Police have arrested an Orem couple on suspicion of repeatedly raping and sodomizing their 16-year-old biological son.

Juvenile probation authorities contacted Orem detectives March 18 after the boy told a case worker about the alleged abuse, which began in 2008 and lasted more than two years, according to a police news release.

The boy, who is now 18, said his mother and father had sex with him on a number of occasions, according to the release.

The boy's mother and father, ages 46 and 45, were booked into the Utah County Jail on suspicion of forcible sodomy and rape.

The Salt Lake Tribune is not naming the parents to protect the son's identity.
