Police on Wednesday afternoon arrested a suspect in a bank robbery after a short standoff in a Salt Lake City apartment building.
Tips led police to the building, near 500 South and 500 East, where the man had locked himself in an apartment, said Salt Lake City police Sgt. Robyn Snyder.
After speaking with police negotiators for 20 minutes, the 34-year-old man left the building and was taken into custody.
Police said the man is suspected in two bank robberies: one that occurred Tuesday night at the Zions Bank in Holladay at 4675 S. Highland Dr., and the March 3 robbery of the First National Bank at 480 E. 400 South in Salt Lake City.
