The Utah Senate unanimously approved a list of road projects for a $77 million Salt Lake County bond.

Under SB215, the county would give $68.5 million to the Utah Department of Transportation for state roads in the county, and $8.5 million to cities.

The state projects slated for improvement include State Street through Midvale -- long a city priority as the road there narrows and lacks sidewalks. The funding likely would not allow widening all the way south from 7200 South to 9200 South, said Sen. Wayne Niederhauser, R-Sandy, the bill's sponsor. But it likely would allow upgrades as far as 8000 South.

The list of municipal road upgrades includes: $2 million for 2300 East in Salt Lake County and Holladay, $3.5 million for North Temple in Salt Lake City, $1.5 million for 4800 South in Murray and $1.5 million for 13400 South in Riverton.

State roads and intersections getting UDOT's portion for upgrades include 5400 South from Bangerter Highway to 4000 West, Bangerter Highway at State Route 201, 12300 South at State Street, Bangerter Highway at 6200 South, 7000 South and 3100 South, 5400 South from 4000 West to 4800 West, 9400 South and Wasatch Boulevard and the Interstate 215 West interchange from 3500 South to 3800 South.

The bill now goes to the House.
