The Division of State History seeks nominations for its annual awards, which recognize significant contributions to history, prehistory or historic preservation in the state.

Nominations are due May 20. Forms are available at history.utah.gov or by contacting Alycia Aldrich, 801-533-3556 or aaldrich@utah.gov.

The awards honor individuals or groups in two categories:

Outstanding contribution » For long-term contributions to archaeology, preservation or history.

Outstanding achievement » For a project or activity in archaeology, preservation or history, or in support of one of Utah's heritage organizations. Nominated projects may include research, preservation, education, fundraising, community programs, volunteerism, journalism or other activities.

Awards will be presented Sept. 9 at the Utah State History Conference.
