Westbound Interstate 215 will be closed Wednesday night through early Thursday and Thursday night through early Friday, from about 400 West to 700 West, for bridge construction, according to the Utah Transit Authority.

Traffic will be forced to exit I-215 at 280 East (Fashion Blvd.) between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. beginning Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Also closed will be the I-215 westbound on-ramp at 280 East and the ramp to I-15 northbound southbound from I-215 west. Motorists eastbound on I-215 will not be affected.

Westbound motorists during the closure will be detoured on 280 East, then west on Winchester (6400 So.), south on State Street, then west on 7200 South, where motorists can access I-15 northbound and then access I-215.

The closures are being conducted for bridge construction work connected to the FrontRunner South commuter rail project.

Questions regarding this closure should be directed to the project construction hotline at 1-888-800-8854.
