A semitrailer truck driver who was critically injured in a crash near Birdseye on Saturday has been released from the hospital, police said.

The other driver in the crash, 24-year-old Trent Walker, died at the scene. Walker was driving home from a funeral when his Silver Ford F-150 crossed the center line about 2:45 p.m. on U.S. Highway 89 in Spanish Fork Canyon, said Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Todd Johnson.

The semitrailer driver, 45-year-old Slobodan Spanovic, was flown to University Hospital in Salt Lake City in critical condition. He was treated for his injuries and released about 7 p.m., Johnson said.
