A 26-year-old Taylorsville woman hospitalized Friday for carbon monoxide poisoning caused by auto exhaust fumes was released from the hospital Saturday. Her grandparents, who live in the same locale, remained hospitalized.

The woman lives with her grandparents in a house in the 700 West block of 4800 South. Her grandfather and grandmother reported feeling sick Friday, and authorities later discovered the house was filled with carbon monoxide after a car was left running for hours in a garage, said Unified Fire Authority Capt. Clint Mecham.

The woman was found unresponsive in the apartment she lived in above her grandparents' garage. She was admitted to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition Friday, but had improved Saturday and returned home.

The grandfather was in serious condition Friday and the grandmother suffered minor injuries. They remained in the hospital Saturday, but are expected to fully recover, Mecham said.
