Six water companies in Utah have been listed as noncompliant with the state's Water Conservation Plan Act.

The Utah Division of Water Resources said the companies didn't file water conservation plans by the February deadline.

The companies that missed the deadline are Eagle Mountain City, Helper Municipal, Mountain Regional Special Service District, Parowan Municipal, Provo City and Roy Municipal.

The Water Conservation Plan Act mandates that water conservancy districts and retailers with more than 500 drinking water connections prepare conservation plans and submit them.

The act affects companies that provide for about 93 percent of Utah's population.
