The Utah Department of Transportation is conducting meetings this week to take public comments about transportation needs and issues in the West Davis Transportation Corridor north of Legacy Parkway.

Officials are embarking on an environmental study that will gauge the need for new projects -- a highway, a transit improvement or others -- to handle expected growth in the area between Farmington and Marriott-Slaterville, west of Ogden.

The meetings, set for 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., will be in an open house format, with officials on hand to accept public comment individually. The first is Tuesday at Syracuse High School. The second is Wednesday in the Legacy Event Center at the Davis County Fairgrounds in Farmington. The last is Thursday at West Weber Elementary School.
