Fundraiser planned for sheriff candidate

Bountiful Police Department Lt. Solomon Oberg's campaign is organizing a concert to raise funds for his bid to become Davis County sheriff.

Long-time Sheriff Bud Cox has announced he will retire at year's end. Sheriff's Deputy Sgt. Todd Richardson has also said he will be a candidate. More information on Richardson, who ran for the post in the past two elections, is available at www.daviscountysheriff.com.

Oberg's fundraising concert will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 26 at Bountiful High School, 695 S. Orchard Drive. The event will feature performances by Jaque and Debra Tingey, Greg Simpson, and Kirstin Waldron and Megan Visser. Tickets are $10 per person or $25 for a family of up to five.
