A 19-year-old Ephraim man has been arrested for allegedly shooting a Park City man in the face on Jan. 2.

The 48-year-old man told police he was unloading his car in a parking lot at 2200 Monitor Drive around 6:30 p.m. when he was approached by German Chavez, who offered to sell him electronics, Park City police reported.

When the man refused to buy anything, Chavez allegedly shot the man in the face with a handgun.

The man who was shot was not critically injured, police reported. He later picked Chavez's picture out of a photo line-up.

Chavez was booked into the Summit County jail on suspicion of aggravated attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a restricted person and possession of a stolen firearm, police reported.
