A Salt Lake County garbage truck overturned on the I-80 westbound on-ramp on 1300 east, closing the on ramp for about two hours.
Witnesses said the truck was not going very fast at about 9:20 a.m., but they saw some metal shavings shoot from the truck, and then it tipped over on its left side as it took the turn from 1300 East southbound on to I-80 westbound.
The on-ramp was closed until just before noon.
No other cars were involved, and the driver of the truck complained only of a sore shoulder. The truck lost a small amount of hydraulic fluid, but it has been cleaned up.
Investigators are looking for signs of equipment problems on the truck, said Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Cameron Roden.
