Fire severely damaged a Layton home Saturday evening.
Firefighters responded to a home near 1550 North and 2500 East at 8:11 p.m. to find flames and smoke coming from the roof, said Layton Fire Battalion Chief Mike Adams.
Crews were able to extinguish the blaze in about 40 minutes.
The fire started from a wood-burning stove in the home's attic, Adams said. Damage is estimated between $70,000 to $80,000, Adams said. No injuries were reported.
