A woman and a young girl died Thursday night when the SUV they were riding in overturned into the median of Interstate 15 near Cedar City, the Utah Highway Patrol reports.

UHP identified the victims as Joanna G. Anderson, the 32-year-old driver, and Kayla Anderson, 9, both of Delta. Three other occupants of the car -- Emily Anderson, 18; Whitney Anderson, 15; and Megan Anderson, 12 -- were taken by ambulance to Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City.

Emily and Whitney Anderson were still in the hospital Friday, said hospital spokesman Scott Monroe. Megan Anderson had been treated for minor injuries and released, he said.

UHP spokesman Cameron Roden said the cause of the southbound 1993 Suburban's 7:30 p.m. Thursday crash remained under investigation.
