A crash on an icy road Sunday in northeastern Oregon killed an 83-year-old Utah man and injured four others.

A Riverton man, 28, was driving east with three other adults and one child on Interstate 84 when the vehicle began to slide. The driver overcorrected, and the car left the road and went down a ravine, Oregon troopers wrote in a press release.

Passenger Clarence Randall Campbell, 83, of South Jordan, died at the scene.

Two South Jordan women, the driver and a 3-year-old boy from Riverton suffered minor injuries.

Tribune reporter Erin Alberty contributed to this report.
