Cherie Wood has won the race for South Salt Lake mayor, according to unofficial returns.
Wood defeated a comeback attempt by former Mayor Wes Losser, who was ousted by current Mayor Bob Gray in 2005. Wood is Gray's assistant mayor and endorsed successor.
Voters in South Salt Lake also reinstated three incumbent council members: Casey Fitts, John Weaver and Boyd Marshall.
