With 71 percent of the West Valley City precincts reporting, front-runner Mike Winder was leading the race with 76 percent of the vote.
Winder, 33, was watching the Salt Lake County unofficial results roll with several family and friends at West Valley City Hall late Tuesday. If Winder wins, he said he might be the youngest serving mayor in Utah.
"I love this city, and it's a deep, deep honor to be mayor," he said in a phone interview.
