Voting was slow but steady today at select polling places in Salt Lake City, where a $125 million public safety headquarters bond is being decided.
Charles Patten says he supported the bond.
"I've seen pictures of the facility. It is important that we get that up to date so that we have a nice, safe emergency operations center," said Patten.
Patten also cast his ballot for Soren Simonsen, in City Council District 7, saying he didn't see much difference between the candidates, so went for the incumbent.
Analeis Larsen said she didn't bother voting in the District 7 race where Lisa Ramsey Adams is challenging Simonsen because she hadn't researched the candidates.
But she voted against the public safety bond.
"It kills me that it's on the ballot a second time," referring to the $192 million bond proposal that failed two years ago. "I feel it's kind of being snuck in on an off-year election," Larsen said. "In a hurting economy, why have taxpayers put out more money?"
