Two men are accused of kidnapping a Salt Lake City woman at knifepoint, cutting her hair and leaving her in the west desert.

In charges filed Monday, police wrote that the men went to the woman's home near 700 South and 800 East on July 16 and knocked on her door. When she answered, one of the men, 35, grabbed her by the neck and forced her to an alley, where the other man, 30, was waiting with a car, police wrote.

The man who was holding the woman allegedly pushed her into the back seat, held a knife to her throat and told the other man to drive to the Salt Flats.

He held the woman by the hair and kept the knife at her throat as the car drove away from Salt Lake City, police wrote.

Once they reached the Salt Flats, he ordered the driver to stop, pulled the woman out of the car and told her to start walking, police wrote. Instead she fell into a ditch.

The man allegedly grabbed the woman's hair, used the knife to cut some of it and put the hair into her hand. He told her it was her second chance and said, "Don't ever say anything about this," police wrote.

The two men then left the woman alone, police wrote.

Both men were charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated kidnapping, first-degree felonies.
