A man was arrested after a suspected drunken-driving wreck that injured a woman and her 8-year-old son Sunday in Saratoga Springs.

The man, in his late 20s, was driving west on State Road 73 near 800 West about 3:45 p.m., when his pickup drifted over the center line, said Saratoga Springs police Cpl. Aaron Rosen.

The truck first clipped an eastbound vehicle, causing it to spin out, Rosen said. It then collided head-on with a compact passenger car driven by a 45-year-old woman from Eagle Mountain, Rosen said.

The woman remained in critical condition Monday. Her son was in serious condition, Rosen said.

The pickup driver suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence when he was released from the hospital, Rosen said.
