Hill Air Force Base is telling nearby residents that they may notice sirens, smoke and explosion sounds as the base participates in an operational readiness exercise.
The training was scheduled to start Monday and end Nov. 9.
The base says the training is held at various times during the year and is important for the Air Force's success during wartime operations.
The base says night-flying operations may increase and people may hear the public address system alerting those on the base to simulated attack conditions.
Hill Air Force Base is about 30 miles north of Salt Lake City.
