Christmas tree permits in some parts of Utah are now on sale.
Certain district offices of the Fishlake and Dixie national forests are selling permits, which typically start around $10.
Between now and the end of the month, permits will go on sale in national forests throughout Utah.
The forests offer a limited number of permits. Trees have to be cut close to the ground. No cutting is allowed within 200 feet of rivers and streams.
Each forest has a list of what kinds of trees can and can't be cut for the holidays.
