A Salt Lake City man is facing up to life in prison for allegedly kidnapping and stabbing a woman.
Charges filed Thursday in state court say on Oct. 11, the man drew a knife and told the woman to drive northwest of the city. When the woman pulled off the road, the 35-year-old man began stabbing her. The documents do not explain whether the man and woman knew each other or why he might have stabbed her. The man is charged with a count of aggravated kidnapping and a count of aggravated assault, both felonies punishable by as much as life in prison.
