Clearfield police have arrested a person suspected in a shooting there in August and are trying to find his brother.

Police believe Ramon Luis Rivera, 24, shot someone in the head Aug. 29 in Clearfield. Federal and local law enforcement arrested him Thursday in West Jordan. The victim survived. Formal charges have not been filed.

Clearfield Detective Kyle Jeffries said Rivera's brother, Paul Rivera, 27, is suspected in a September 2008 robbery at the Black Velvet Boutique. Clearfield police have said Paul Rivera used a gun to rob the clerk and then bound her with fuzzy handcuffs from the novelty store. He is believed to be in the Layton-Ogden area, Jeffries said.

Anyone with information about Paul Rivera can contact Clearfield police at 801-525-2806.
