About 9,100 people in South Jordan and the Bluffdale area have electricity again after power failed at the 9000 South substation and three other stations.

Power shut off at about 3 p.m. and was restored about 3:55 p.m.

At 1:54 p.m., about 58,000 people in Ogden, Eden, Marriott and Pleasant View were left without power for about an hour as a major substation failed, affecting 14 other power stations.

Officials do not know the cause there but are looking into it. Power seems to be holding strong in the area, said Rocky Mountain Power spokesman David Eskelsen.
