A West Point family was displaced from their home Saturday, after the dwelling caught fire for the second time in two days.
Firefighters responded to 368 N. 5000 West about noon Saturday to discover flames had engulfed the home, said Capt. Dave Youngberg of the North Davis Fire District.
Crews from the North Davis Fire District, Syracuse, Clinton, Sunset and Layton battled flames for about two hours before the fire could be extinguished. The home is a total loss, Youngberg said.
Saturday's fire came a day after a separate fire was reported at the same home. Fire crews Friday put out a fire that started in a bathroom in the home's master bedroom, Youngberg said. That fire caused minimal damage, but forced the home's occupants to stay in a hotel Friday evening.
It's unclear what caused the fires, but the Utah State Fire Marshal is investigating, Youngberg said.
He said the family was not home during either fire. So far, investigators have found nothing suspicious about the fires, Youngberg said.
Two adults and three children lived in the destroyed home. No injuries were reported. The family is staying with friends, Youngberg said.
In an unrelated case, a fire destroyed a Eureka woman's home Saturday. The woman and her dog escaped her mobile home uninjured, according to a press release from the Mountain Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross. The cause of the fire is still undetermined, the Juab County Sheriff's
