Ogden police are looking for a man who took nearly 300 prescription pills from another man at gunpoint Wednesday night.

Just before 6 p.m., a 25-year-old man was outside his house on the 2500 block of Adams Avenue with his mother and several other people, said Ogden police Lt. Scott Sangberg.

Another man walked up to the group and asked the name of the 25-year-old. Told that he had the right person, the man pulled out a .380-caliber handgun and demanded drugs. The 25-year-old had 140 pills of OxyContin and 140 pills of Oxycodone, Sangberg said. The gunman fired into the pavement, ripping up shards of concrete that hit the 25-year-old and his mother.

The 25-year-old handed over the drugs, and the man ran away, disappearing into the 2500 block of Porter Avenue.

He is described as a white man in his early 20s with very short light-brown hair and stubble on his face. He was about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9, wearing a gray shirt and khaki shorts. The 25-year-old and his mother were treated at the scene for scrapes and nicks from the flying concrete.
