Police are looking for three men who entered a Taylorsville home Tuesday and stole cash and prescription medication from the man inside.

Taylorsville Detective Troy Martinez said at 10:30 a.m., the three men got into the home near 3400 South and Valley Heights Drive through an unlocked back door.

A man inside was bruised when the burglars hit him with a helmet and demanded that he comply.

"They took some medication -- particularly Lortab and OxyContin," Martinez said. "They also took the pair of shorts he had on, which contained his wallet and ID cards. He's describing that he had about $1,700 in cash."

One burglar is described as a 34-year-old white man with salt-and-pepper hair, a small beard and mustache; he was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.

Another burglar was a white man in his late 20s or early 30s wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt and a red bandana over his face.

The third man was a white man wearing a cream-colored hoodie with a red bandana.

The group left in a light blue Pontiac or Plymouth car.

Martinez said it is unclear whether the victim was targeted, but the victim, in his 50s, is a convicted drug offender.
