Salt Lake City police are looking for a gun-wielding man who robbed a Key Bank branch Friday morning in the Sugar House area.

The man walked into the bank at 2299 S. Highland Drive about 9:20 a.m. and demanded cash while brandishing the gun, said Sgt. Robin Snyder. The tellers gave him money and he walked out through the east doors. It isn't known if he got into a vehicle.

He was described as a white man, 40 to 50 years old, 5-feet, 10-inches tall, weighing 160 pounds with brown hair. He was wearing a white shirt with a small green square logo, khaki pants and dark shoes, along with a dark-colored baseball cap and a dark-colored handkerchief-type cloth covering the lower part of his face.

In a separate robbery in Sugar House on Friday, two men robbed the U.S. Bank near 2200 East and 2100 South about 4:45 p.m.

The men walked in the north doors wearing black hooded sweatshirts, gloves and ski masks, jumped over the counter and stole money, Lt. Scott White said. No guns were seen.

They then left in a maroon four-door car with Utah license plate number 753YKC or 753YKG, White said. The car was recently reported stolen out of Bountiful.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 799-INFO (4636).
