A 30-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition Monday morning after he was stabbed four times during a fight in Sandy.
The man was apparently attacked by his cousin's 23-year-old boyfriend about 12:15 a.m. at a home near 100 West and Palmer Way (8800 South), Sandy police Sgt. Justin Chapman said.
The victim came to the home after his cousin called and asked him to help her remove belongings from the residence after fighting with her boyfriend.
At the home, the woman's boyfriend allegedly yelled at the man and punched him in the face. The boyfriend then allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the cheek, chest and arms.
Sandy police arrested the knife-wielding man and booked him into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of aggravated assault and simple assault.
The woman's cousin was taken to a hospital and remains in critical condition, Chapman said.
