A restriping job on Interstate 15 will put a squeeze on northbound traffic lanes and shut down several ramps in Salt Lake City. The project started Tuesday night.

The Utah Department of Transportation plans to narrow I-15 to three lanes (plus a car-pool lane) between 3300 South and 600 North and restrict access to many of the ramps that make up the "spaghetti bowl" between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Those closures -- prompted by a warranty-related restriping project on I-15 -- will affect:

» The northbound ramp at 3300 South.

» The northbound collector running parallel to I-15 that serves 2100 South, 1300 South and 900 South.

» The northbound ramp leading from I-15 to State Road 201.

» The northbound I-15 exit onto Interstate 80.

» All westbound lanes on I-80 from State Street to I-15.

» The ramps leading on and off I-15 at 600 North.
