Police in St. George are looking for a man who used a bomb threat to rob a bank.

About 3:45 p.m., the man went to a Wells Fargo bank inside an Albertsons grocery store at 805 S. Bluff St. He told a teller he had an explosive device in a bag he placed on the counter, police said. The teller gave him money and he left.

The bomb squad arrived and a robot destroyed the device. St. George police Lt. Kyle Whitehead said he did not know if the device was actually a bomb.

The robber was described as black man, possibly in his 40s, about 6 feet tall with a medium build. Anyone with information in the case can contact St. George police at 435-627-4300.
